Dosage GuidelinesAdult: Uncomplicated Infections-1 gm,every 12 hr. Moderate to Severe Infections: 1-2 grams every 8 hr. Life-threatening Infections upto 2-12 gm after every 4 hr Cesarean Patients: First dose of 1 gm is administered intravenously a s soon as the umbilical cord is clamped.Second and Third doses should be given as 1 gram IV at 6 and 12 hr after the final dose.
